Water Treatment

The futuristic evaporation technology used at Jandakot Wool Washing to recycle water has been installed at four other plants built by Evatex, the Chargeurs operations at Rio Llobregat in Spain, Shanghai in China, Modiano at Nejdek in the Czech Republic and Vaugelade near Limoges in France.

Key features of our plant project include

No pre-treatment of the scour effluent other than screening

pre-heating of the feed to the evaporator by counter-current exchange with the hot non condensable gases and condensate and evaporation of the effluent to high solids content in four falling film and two forced circulation passes.

Condensation and evaporation

Vapour compression reduces the plants overall energy consumption. Stream and air stripping reduce chemical oxygen demand of the condensate sufficiently for it to be recycled. Discharge of the solids-rich concentrate in easily handled form is achieved by maintaining it hot and well agitated. When it cools it forms a solidified mass.

The plant and equipment has been designed to minimise energy consumption. In addition to mechanical vapour recompression and stream thermo compression to minimise stream usage, heat is recovered from both liquid and vapour streams before it is discharged.
